Students at The High School in Aylesbury celebrate getting their A Level results

Girls at Aylesbury High School are celebrating today, after achieving spectacular success at A-level.

Headteacher Alan Rosen said that 45 students got three As or better in the exams, and 50% of the students got an A* or an A.

He said: “We are really pleased with this year’s results.

“There has obviously been national speculation as to how we would all do given the changes to the exam system, but we don’t seem to have been adversely affected by it at all.”

High flyers include Laura Scully, 18 who achieved two A*s and an A and will go to Cambridge to study law.

Paige Walker, 18, will also go to Cambridge to study veterinary medicine after achieving two A*s and two As.

Becca Harty, won a place to study history and politics at Nottingham after scoring A, A and B grades.
