Residents from Southcourt were celebrating this week after Buckinghamshire County Council agreed to reroute the number 11 bus through the estate.
The residents were angry when a decision was taken in early September to reroute the Green Route 4 service into Aylesbury as part of wider changes to bus timetables across the Vale.
After several crunch meetings with Arriva and the county council, and threats to blockade the road if their demands were not met, a compromise has now been reached.
The changes come into force on December 2 and will see the number 11 service being rerouted to include Taylor Road and Old Stoke Road.
The altered service will now serve Southcourt hourly between 9am and 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
Ray Savage, who is acting as spokesman for the Birch Court residents, said it was a good deal.
He said: “We are happy with the solution that was reached.
“Now it is vitally important that the residents use the bus service regularly, otherwise we could end up losing it.”
Labour councillor Michael Beall, who represents the Southcourt ward added: “I am relieved that the residents of Southcourt can now benefit from a regular bus service.
“I would encourage other residents to fight their corner if they are unhappy over buses because this situation proves that if people stand up they can get things changed.”
