Lock up your iPods

People living in the Chilterns have been urged to lock up their cars after a recent rise in thefts from motor vehicles.

Chief Inspector Ian Hunter, commander for Chiltern Local Police Area (LPA), is warning residents following a number of thefts from cars including sat navs, iPods and laptops.

Chief Insp Hunter said: "The message is simple, don't make it easy for thieves.

"People should lock their cars and keep their valuables out of sight which will significantly reduce the risks of being a victim of crime.

"We have made arrests but it's vital we hear from anyone who has information or has been offered a laptop or satnav they believe to be stolen."
