Woman hospitalised after van strikes car while she tends to child in back seat

A woman was seriously injured as she tended to a child when a van collided with their car in Aylesbury.

The woman had left the stationary Ford Focus and was leaning into the back seat when the collision occurred in the Broadfields area.

The 31 year old suffered serious injuries to her shoulder and ankle and was taken to hospital for treatment, where she remains in a stable condition.

The Vauxhall Vivaro van driver, who stopped at the scene, was uninjured. The child also escaped injury in the incident at around 1.50pm on October 6.

PC Ian Stevens, who is investigating the collision, appealed for witnesses to come forward.

He said: “At the time of the collision there was a vehicle parked on the left-hand side of Broadfields, just past the entrance to the McDonald’s restaurant.

“We would like to speak to the owner or occupants of this vehicle as they may have information which could assist our inquiry.”

Call police with information on 101 and ask to speak to PC Stevens, or you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800555111.
