What did you think of Guttmann TV drama?
Eddie Marsan as Sir Ludwig Guttmann
With the Paralympics set to light up our screens at the end of the month, it was a chance for the founder of the Games to take centre stage in a BBC drama last night.
Sir Ludwig Guttmann’s story has been well documented this year but received its biggest audience yet in BBC Two drama The Best of Men.
A stellar cast including Eddie Marsan as Guttmann and Rob Brydon as fictitious patient Wynn Bowen was well received by critics.
The Metro said the programme ‘might have seemed like it was doing its dutiful Paralympic build-up bit, but turned out to be one of the best dramas of the year so far’.
The Daily Telegraph gave the drama, charting the life of Guttmann and how the Paralympic Games came into existence, three-and-a-half stars out of five.
