Watch Tring farmer and his hens star in hilarious TV advert

A TRING farmer is the face of a funny new TV advertising campaign set to hit our screens from this week, and you can see it here on BHTV.

Ethical egg producer, John Michalski, is set to have us clucking mad as he drives a quad bike around his fields with one of his hens as a backseat passenger.

Mr Michalski and his hens are undoubtedly the stars in what is a hilarious new 30 second advert for The Happy Egg Company.

Developed by brand agency, The Clinton Partnership, the promotion features a voiceover from actress Caroline Quentin and the 1960s rock classic Born to Be Wild.

The idea was hatched with the aim of "communicating Happy Eggs' commitment to producing eggs that go above and beyond the standards for free range". The face of the campaign is real-life Happy Egg producer, Mr Michalski, who is seen driving on his quad bike with one of his resident hens perched on the back.

Mr Michalski's farm in Hertfordshire was the setting for the filming of the advert.

The adverts will show the whacky world of Happy Egg farming, where hens have plenty of space to roam and forage, as well as an assortment of activities to enhance the birds' natural surroundings - from an adventure playground and sandpit, to swings and brash covered areas.

Mr Michalski said: "It was a big surprise to be asked. Making the advert was great fun and certainly a big difference from the day job!

"I've always been interested in offering people an education in where good food comes from, so it's great to part of the campaign and in passing on the message to the consumer.

"Free range gives the hens the opportunity to get as much freedom as possible, as they're able to roam and explore the outdoors."

And Mr Michalski's favourite egg recipe? "Scrambled with a big knob of unsalted butter…. Lovely."
