Villagers oppose garage demolition to make way for social housing

The potential demolition of a set of garages to make way for social housing is being opposed by villagers in Cublington.
The Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust owns a site in the village and wants to build a three-bedroom house for four people. But residents and the parish council say parking in Bell Close, where the development would be, and the High Street is limited and the work would make the problem worse.
District councillor Peter Cooper said social housing should not be built at any cost and that this would be ‘too high a price to pay’.
The trust said the house would provide a much needed home for a family.
