Vale jewellery burglaries on the rise

People are being urged to improve their home security after a spate of jewellery burglaries in Aylesbury Vale.
On one day in January alone six homes were broken into including one each in Pitstone and Stewkely. All of the burglaries occurred between 8am and 11pm when no-one was home.
The criminals broke in through windows by using metal tools.
Det Insp Russ Murden said: “We are urging residents to secure their homes particularly when left unoccupied in the daytime. We have seen a small rise in jewellery burglaries in rural areas since November. This makes up 35% of Aylesbury Vale burglaries.”
Anyone with any information about these jewellery burglaries should call Det Insp Russ Murden on 101
