Police have cordoned off an area of Coxhill Way, Aylesbury

POLICE launch rape investigation after incident in Coxhill Way near Aylesbury Train Station on Friday.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses as part of the investigation after they were called at 2.19am on Friday following reports that a 19-year-old woman was raped near to Aylesbury Train Station, in the vicinity of Bourg Walk in Station Way.

Det Insp Nick Glister said: “We are still in the early stages of the investigation and the victim is still being interviewed at this time by specially trained officers.

“Until we have further information we are unable to release more details, but I would like to reassure people that we are treating this matter very seriously and a team of detectives are working down at the scene of the incident to gather evidence and review CCTV from the area.

“Officers will also be carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the local area and I would urge anyone who has any concerns to speak with them about these.

“Incidents of this nature are very rare in the Aylesbury area and I would like to reassure residents that everything that can be done, is being done at this time.”
