U-turn over pub footpath

BUCKS County Council has given in to public pressure over its legal threat to a publican in Aston Clinton who made improvements to a dangerous and overgrown path.

Ray Kindell was told to remove the wooden pathway he had created to his pub, The Partridge Arms, or face legal action.

Dozens of readers protested over the decision, and now BCC has said they will not ask for the fence to removed, and have withdrawn the threat of legal action.

Mike Walker, from BCC, will be meeting with Mr Kindell tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss the best way of coming to a sensible and fair solution.

According to county councillor for Aston Clinton, Bill Chapple, BCC wants to see a reasonable resolution to the problem.
