Traffic warning: Lorry fire on the A41 last week will lead to further road closures THIS weekend
No Caption ABCDE
Urgent road works will be carried out this weekend following last week’s traffic chaos on the A41 after a lorry caught fire,
The fire on the Woodland roundabout close to the Aston Clinton bypass last Thursday evening at 7.14pm caused severe damage to the roads that now need fixing.
The bypass was closed travelling both ways but many motorists were unaware of the closure causing gridlock on Friday morning.
The bypass, both east and west bound, from the Broughton Lane and Bedgrove roundabout to the Tring and Icknield Way roundabout will be closed from 7pm on Friday, September 14 until 6am the following morning.
While this takes place traffic will be diverted via Upper Icknield Way and the Wendover Road to Aylesbury, and vice versa.
From 7pm on Saturday evening until 6am the following morning the A41 will be closed again in the same places. However, the east bound carriageway will remain open. Traffic will be diverted west bound via Upper Icknield Way.
Re-surfacing work at Chesham will be delayed again as the equipment from the scheme will be working on the A41.
