Town centre apartments get seal of approval
Retail space above a camping shop has received planning approval to be converted into flats.
The floors above Blacks, the outdoor camping shop in Market Square, are set to be changed to three two-bedroom flats.
Aylesbury Vale District Council voted unanimously in favour of approving the plans, which will see a new entrance provided on the Stock House Passage elevation. Blacks will still continue to trade out of the building.
A refuse area will also be provided on the ground floor.
Councillor Glenda Reynolds said: “This is a good idea to turn this into residential space. We don’t want empty shops, it will eliminate that in a way. It’s good to get more residential activity in the town centre.”
