The Misbourne school is celebrating after 76% of A-level exams were graded A* to C.

Students achieved an overall pass rate, A* to E, of 100%, with 42% of exams graded A* to B.

Headteacher Robert Preston congratulated students on their ‘fantastic’ achievements.

Mr Preston said: “This is a superb set of results and clearly represents the tremendous effort and commitment of our students, their parents and Misbourne staff over the past two years.”

One student, Barry Bai, got an A* in maths and Bs in physics and chemistry and is going to study aeronautics and astronautics at Southampton University. When Barry joined the school in 2007 from China he spoke very little English.

He said: “I am delighted that I have gained my place at Southampton. My thanks go to all the teachers for their hard work and support.”
