Second year of success at Aylesbury's Jay Fest

With the music festival season upon us, Aylesbury's offering of Jay Fest has proved itself to be a success for a second year running.

At Ludgershall near Brill, last year's audience of just 500 people swelled to a 1,500 gathering this year where they enjoyed watching more than 50 acts and DJs perform across four different stages.

The festival is organised in memory of Jason Fisher, who died after developing complications following an emergency operation in Thailand. He returned home and was admitted to Stoke Mandeville hospital before dying in 2008.

A spokesperson for the Jayfest committee said: "Jason's love for music and partying is why we held Jay Fest 2009, so that his memory lives on, and his contagious energy is remembered.

"The event was originally organised in aid of Stoke Mandeville intensive therapy unit, as a thank you for the support this department gave Jason in his last days. Donations are being made to the unit once again this year, plus the festival also gave a time for friends and family to have a great day out listening to good music.

"Anyone who knew Jason would know that he lived life to the fullest, attending any festival or night out that he could."
