HS2 Ltd is looking to hire a social media officer who can ‘respond to challenge with maturity and resilience’.
The position, to ‘develop a social media voice’ for the controversial high speed train line will pay £35,671 plus benefits.
It will be based in London.
The controversial high speed train line will pass through Buckinghamshire without stopping, en-route from London to Birmingham.
In the past the TaxPayers’ Aliiance have criticised HS2 Ltd for creating what it calls ‘non-jobs’.

And Matthew Sinclair, chief executive of the TaxPayers’ Alliance which opposes HS2, said: “Paying someone nearly forty grand just to tweet about HS2 is yet another example of how taxpayers’ money is being wasted on this project.
“The proposed high speed line is a white elephant that represents terrible value for money based on flawed assumptions and overly generous predictions.
“Instead of employing people to promote HS2 online the Government should scrap this non-job, and the line with it, before any more taxpayers’ money is squandered.”
A spokesman for HS2 Ltd, said: “HS2 Ltd has advertised for a social media officer to carry out the necessary communications work required for a major infrastructure project of national significance to the UK, as the project moves forward and into the Parliamentary process.”
