A TREE planting fun day at Waddesdon Manor has been cancelled because of the ongoing freezing temperatures – and will now take place in March.

The event was due to take place on Saturday, from 11am-2pm, to help create a new 60-acre woodland to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

But organisers have decided to reschedule it for a warmer day.

Once it opens, in two years’ time, the new woodlands will be free to enter and feature 37,000 new trees.

It will also boast a new wetlands area, disabled access and flower meadow.

Lord Rothschild was due to plant the first tree and had invited families to come and join him on Saturday so they could also plant one of the trees.

> The event has been rescheduled to place on Saturday March 3, 11am-1pm.
