Stoke Mandeville Stadium raised £250 for WheelPower after 150 people paid to try a series of new fitness classes.

They were also shown the new sports massage therapy treatment centre, which opens in February.

During the event members and non-members paid £2 to try out the new armageddon, body combat and body attack classes. Sports therapist, Gavin Ebeling worked with 20 people at the new treatment centre.

Stadium spokesman Ian Seabrook said: “We are delighted to be bringing brand new fitness classes to the stadium.

“The launch was a huge success and we raised a great deal for WheelPower.

“We’re very much looking forward to the opening of our sport massage therapy clinic, especially after receiving a lot of interest at the launch.”

Health and fitness manager Daniel Boniface said: “We are extremely excited to be launching sports massage therapy at Stoke Mandeville Stadium as we understand how important it is for people to stay in good condition, so people can continue to train and play sport as well as continue with every day activities.”
