Misbourne School GCSE results: ‘I take my hat off to my staff and the children’ says head

Students have performed extremely well at The Misbourne School in Great Missenden, with 84% securing A*-C grades.

Head Robert Preston said: “I’m really pleased. We had a good year last year and we have done even better this year with an even greater set of exam results – 84% of all our students achieved five A*-C grades which is quite phenomenal.

“There are so many great individual performances. I take my hat off to my staff and the children for the work they have put in.”

The school’s achievements include the art department securing 13 A*s and six As and the photography department getting 13 A*s and nine As.

The physics department achieved five A*s and four As. the maths faculty secured five A*s and 13 As.

One pupil, Oliver Clements, got 11 A*s and three A grades.

When asked about how hard pupils such as Oliver had worked, Mr Preston said: “It’s obviously very hard to get an A but to get an A* you have to be in the top five per cent.”

The school came out of special measures earlier this year (pictured above).
