Roger Hawes, editor of Bucks Herald, Bucks Advertiser and Thame Gazette
A NEW editor has been appointed to the Bucks Herald, Bucks Advertiser and Thame Gazette newspapers.
Roger Hawes (pictured above) is an experienced newspaper journalist who has lived in the area for more than 40 years.
His wife works locally and he has three children all at Aylesbury Vale schools.
Roger joins from the Berkshire Media Group where he held several senior editorial posts.
Educated in Aylesbury, Roger brings a wealth of local knowledge and a passion and commitment for community news.
He said:” I have been a weekly newspaper editor for 20 years and to join my local paper, The Bucks Herald, is a privilege.
“I am hugely excited about my appointment as it now means I live, work and play locally.
“Papers like The Bucks Herald are really important for communities like ours so I will continue to build on its excellent reputation for local news coverage.
