Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in Aylesbury

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in Aylesbury.

Police were called to Belgrave Road at 11.40am today after a woman was seriously assaulted in a house.

Following a search of the surrounding area, police found and arrested a 37-year-old man in Faraday Road.

The woman was taken to hospital with head and arm injuries, where she remains in a stable condition.

Investigating officer Det Insp Christopher Inness said: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and he will be questioned by detectives.

“The welfare of the victim is our primary concern and she is currently being supported by a specially trained officer.

“This is being treated as an isolated incident and a full investigation is under way.”
