Lidington tells HS2 Ltd to be more transparent
David Lidington
Aylesbury MP David Lidington has met with the boss of HS2 Ltd to raise concerns about the forums.
The meetings, taking place along the route, have been described as talking shops which do not achieve anything.
Mr Lidington asked Alison Munro why technical questions are often not answered by HS2 Ltd. He also called for the plans to be made more transparent to residents along the route.
The MP said: “Local campaign groups and parish councils had asked me to raise a number of detailed issues with HS2 Ltd.
“I was pleased to meet with Ms Munro and her team to discuss these important issues and express my constituents’ concerns regarding the community forum process and the lack of information being provided on noise and mitigation measures.
“I was particularly keen to highlight that I believe HS2 Ltd should be as transparent as possible in the information it provides to local people regarding the development of the scheme.”
