A dramatic fall in the number of anti-social behaviour incidents in Aylesbury and across the Vale has been recorded.
The Aylesbury Vale District Council figures show a 47% drop in the number of these type of calls in Aylesbury town centre between October 2011 and October 2012 compared to the previous year.
The council says the decline is due to a combination of targeted police patrols and community work including talking to young people at under 18s events and reassuring residents and complainants.
There were also 1,209 fewer incidents reported across the district in the same period, a 28% drop.
Councillor Pam Pearce, cabinet member for community matters, said they are very aware of the anxiety and distress that anti-social behaviour can cause to communities.
She said: “I can assure local residents that, with their help, we’ll be continuing to strive to do even better.”
