Depot’s top industry award down to ‘dedication and quality training’

Butler Fuels

Butler Fuels

A prestigious industry award has been given to a depot of a fuel supplier based near Aylesbury.

The Westcott depot of Butler Fuels was named Depot of the Year by their industry trade association, the Federation of
Petroleum Suppliers.

Butler Fuels is an oil provider supplying heating oil, both kerosene and Glowmax, for homes, plus diesel and gas oil for farmers and commercial users.

The award from the Federation recognises the depot that outdoes all the rest in the industry in the way they run their business.

Operations manager Matt Kelly said the depot’s success is due to the quality and dedication of staff, as well as the standard of the training.

Mr Kelly said: “We work hard to ensure compliance with all regulations plus we have regular internal audits at Westcott and throughout the company to help maintain our high standards.

“As a team, we listen to our customers and always do our best to deliver what we say we will, when we will.

“We also learn from elsewhere within the company, sharing best practice amongst our depots.”

As well as the honour from the Federation, the Westcott depot holds a silver standard in Investors in People.

The depot has eight drivers, two people working in sales development and seven customer sales agents.

The operations side serves domestic, agricultural and commercial customers in the area that includes Milton Keynes, Luton, High Wycombe and Oxford, while the sales centre covers Buckinghamshire, South Hertfordshire, South Essex, London, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey and East Berkshire.

The Westcott depot was not the only section of Butler Fuels that has been celebrating awards from the Federation, with the driver of the year and runner-up employee of the year awards also handed out to people working for the company.

Butler Fuels was established in 1843 and its website promises to deliver ‘competitive prices, quality products and a reliable fuel delivery’.

As well as supplying fuels, the business also offers a range of products to help people protect their fuel from theft.

Butler Fuels claims its tank lock is ‘almost impossible’ to remove when locked. It also recommends having a wall mounted key safe with a combination lock.
