A father has expressed his disappointment with a school bus company after his daughter was refused access because it was too full.
Tim Barfoot, was forced to take his daughter, Ella, 11, into school at Lord Williams’s after her Arriva bus service said it was at capacity.
Mr Barfoot, of Long Crendon, said the company is not fulfilling its duties by not taking pupils to the school.
He said: “I’m very disappointed and for the safety of our children.
“Children as young as 11 are left with potentially no means of getting to school or getting back home, if they don’t have keys or their parents are not home.”
Mr Barfoot said that up to three pupils had been denied entry on to the bus each day since the start of the new school year.
To avoid the problem he said Ella has now been redirected to an earlier bus stop, so she is not refused.
However, Mr Barfoot was quick to acknowledge this is not feasible for all parrents in the area.
A county council spokesman said: “Predicting the demand from fare paying passengers at the start of the academic year can be difficult and the numbers boarding are significantly higher than last year.
“We are aware of the issue on this local bus route and have already taken measures to manage the demand by placing some students on an alternative dedicated home to school service.”
