Cricket club is flooded after pipe bursts

flooding: The Witchell Pavilion at Wendover Cricket Club has suffered thousands of pounds worth of damage after it flooded at the weekend.

It will need new carpets and ceiling after a water pipe burst on Friday night. It is the second time it has flooded in as many years.

Bookings secretary Bill Brown said the club now had to wait for their insurance company to inspect the building.

“It is a setback. We have bridge nights there twice a week and it is used for private bookings,” he added.

Perhaps some management of the building should have been in place! Then this could have been avoided. If it happened before there should be no excuse!! This is a prime example of a reason why our insurance policys keep rising in cost...
