First of all I don't know the family or circumstances of the accident so can only make comments on what I have read. I do find it strange that people are jumping out the woodwork to defend the family from dextermorganformayor's comment. He only put in words what a lot of peoples first reaction was (mine included) to the story as printed in the Bucks Herald. It was possibly insensitive to put those thoughts in print especially as it was not made clear how serious the injures were. However the vitriolic way that the family have been defended seems rather disproportionate to the comment made. I do however join dextermorganformayor and everyone else, in wishing the child a speedy and full recovery.

dextermorganformayor - what a heartless and uncalled-for comment. He's a lovely little boy from a smashing family, and it was an accident, nothing more.

'dextermorganformayor - i think you need to apologise. The young boy comes from a lovely family & they have been through enough without you making coments like that .

I'm astonished at your complete lack of understanding, tact and compassion 'dextermorganformayor'. A poor child has been knocked over in a tragic accident, yet your first thought was to log onto here from your ivory tower and point the finger of blame. How repugnant of you. I know the family are beside themselves and just hope their sonbrother makes a fully recovery.

I am completely speachless that any human being would write such a comment. You know nothing about the incident or who was there or how it happend. Can you imagine what the family are going through right now, the mum & dad and 3 siblings all watched their little brother get knocked down in front of them and there was nothing they could do. Then they read a comment from a small minded person making references that they are to blame and you hope for their sake that he is ok. Do you not think they have been punished enough without reading your comments. I just hope similar things dont ever happen to you so you dont have to deal with what they are having to deal with. Unbelievable.

Why on earth would you assume the child was unattended? Accidents happen - he could have been crossing the road or stepped off the kerb for a second, the driver of the car could have been speeding - anything but I doubt very much that he was unattended!

What on earth was a two year old boy doing in or by the road unattended - I only hope he is going to be ok and fully recovers.
