Band focus: Lightbox

IN a new feature to BHTV we bring you a performance and interviews from Aylesbury band Lightbox.

The band impressed the crowds as they performed at the recent Aylesbury Showcase. While ex-Marillion frontman Fish may have stolen the headlines at this year's show, BHTV takes a look at other Aylesbury bands trying to make it in the industry.

This band focus sees the spotlight cast on Lightbox, an up-and-coming group with enchanting lyrics, brilliant lead guitar and solid rhythm, for which they have received acclamation since they formed in 2005.

Their influences include Radiohead, U2, Coldplay, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Lightbox have been working together since November 2005. Ever since their first get-together, they've received acclaim for their musicianship, recordings and performances.

Currently the band is planning their next studio recordings to satisfy the fans' and industry demand, which will follow a summer of festivals.

Lightbox was born when close friends Josh Gilbert (vocals), James Sargeant (guitar) and Mike Stroud (bass) picked up instruments and started jamming before the arrivals of lead guitarist Gary 'The Riff' Mullins and drummer Joe Evans.

The Bucks Herald and BHTV are supporting local talent and here's your chance to see Lightbox in action, click 'Play' to see the video.
