Aylesbury taxi driver threatened with knife

TWO men have been arrested and bailed after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint.

The incident took place on Saturday at about 2.20am, when the 46-year-old driver from Jet Taxis, picked up four men from Cambridge Street and asked him to take them to the Elmhurst Road area of Aylesbury.

When he got to the road, one of the men began to shout and abuse the taxi driver causing the car to be stopped.

In a panic, the driver attempted to call for help on his taxi radio but one of the men grabbed the handset and broke it.

The men then got out of the taxi and one of them continued to swear at the driver as he produced what the driver described as a knife.

With the knife in his hand, the man stole the driver’s cash bag before all four men ran off towards Bateman Close.
