At the start of the festive season there is a chance for everyone in the area to gather together at the annual Mayor’s Carol Service.

Town Mayor Cllr Allison Harrison invites everyone from Aylesbury and the surrounding areas to enjoy the warmth and beauty of St Mary’s Church in the old town from 5.30-7pm on Sunday (December 6).

During this civic ceremony the mayor and invited dignitary guests will wear their official regalia, with the town robes and chains, and will be led in procession by the Mace Bearer.

The beautiful parish church of St Mary’s will be filled with music from the church choir and musicians alongside Aylesbury Concert Band and Aylesbury Choral Society.

They will lead the carols, as the congregation and visitors join in this festive celebration of Christmas carols.

At the end of the service, with support from Aylesbury Lions, everyone is invited to join the Mayor and fellow councillors for a glass of mulled wine and a festive mince pie.

So take this opportunity to enjoy a lovely community spirited start to the season.
