If you enjoy musical theatre to the extent that you like singing the songs, then you might be interested in joining a new choir.
Musical Theatre Choir - Aylesbury (MTC-Aylesbury) meets once a week from 7.30 - 9pm on Wednesdays at Queens Park Arts Centre and new members (aged 16 and above) are always welcome.
After months of dedication and planning by founder Ashley Turner, the new choir had its first rehearsal in September.
Members are from all ages and backgrounds and travel in from much further afield than just Aylesbury.
The focus is to learn and enjoy songs from musical theatre productions.
Mr Turner is a freelance composer and singing teacher who has lived in Aylesbury for five years, and who has a passion for musical theatre.
He said: “The choir has been created to explore all genres of musical theatre, old and new, well known and less known pieces in order to celebrate a fantastic, interesting and intriguing art form.
“We will look at works from composers such as Andrew Lloyd Webber, Richard Rogers, Jason Robert Brown, Stephen Sondheim, Stephen Swartz, Maury Yeston and Michael John LaChiusa.”
During the sessions members will also learn about good vocal technique and vocal health. Sessions cost £5.50. For more details contact Mr Turner by email at firstname.lastname@example.org
