'How on earth did Aylesbury's new bridge win design award?'
That's the question being asked by a correspondent from Stoke Mandeville after the Bourg Walk bridge receieved top recognition.
How on earth did the Bourg Walk manage to win an award for design?
Far from bringing the community together, it's already becoming a gathering place for unsavoury looking youths to hang about doing nothing, and only the extremely brave or foolhardy would decide to use it.
And as for the design itself, it's a metal monstrosity that will start looking tatty within months - it didn't take two minutes for it to be targeted by graffiti artists.
Let's hope the new theatre adds a touch more class to our weary town than this 'award-winning' bridge has managed.
