Hop Pole wins pub of the year
THE Hop Pole in Aylesbury has been named pub of the year by the local branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The Bicester Road pub beat 700 rivals in the area to land the prestigious prize.
David Roe, CAMRA's Aylesbury Vale & Wycombe Branch Chairman, said: "This is remarkable because only a few years ago the pub was totally run down and going nowhere.
"It has been transformed by local brewers Vale Brewery and is now a mecca for beer drinkers."
What is your favourite pub in the Vale?
