Pupils and their head teacher at a village primary school are jumping for joy after Ofsted graded it ‘good’ for the first time in a decade.
Grendon Underwood Combined School was praised by the education watchdog for its leadership team, who under the ‘inspirational’ headteacher are ‘relentless in their pursuit of excellence’.
Head teacher Pippa Brand-Benee (pictured in red with the pupils), who took over the helm in January 2013, said: “There is such a buzz around the school, and it’s all thanks to the hard work of the staff, governors and of course the children.
“But we won’t be resting, as we’re striving towards an ‘outstanding’ for our next inspection.”
The report highlighted the teachers’ knowledgable approach in making learning fun, and the pupils’ brilliant behaviour.
