Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral service for Tiggywinkles founder Les Stocker on Tuesday.
The service was held at St Mary’s Church in Haddenham, the village where Mr Stocker and his family found a permanent home for their wildlife teaching hospital.
Mr Stocker, who was awarded the MBE by the Queen, and wrote a regular column for this newspaper, passed away while returing from a well earned holiday.
He dedicated his life to the conservation and care of wild animals, and his death sent shockwaves around the wildlife community.
Mr Stocker penned a number of books on wildlife issues as well as his work at St Tiggwinkles, which closed its visitor centre on Tuesday.
