HISTORIC CHURCHES RIDE AND STRIDE. At this event on September 8 St Mary's and St Edmund's Churches received six and two visitors respectively.

SIMON AND CHARLOTTE DICKINSON. Well known to residents for many years because of their support of St Mary's and, in particular, for Simon's ministry, (he was present at the official consecration of the burial ground in 1997) have moved from Waddesdon after 32 years in The White House. They will spend retirement in Thame and are wished a very happy future.

ST MARY'S CHURCH. Family Communion at 9.30am on Sunday and Harvest Service for all on Sunday, October 7, at 6pm.

HORTICULTURAL SHOWS. Alan Lambourne, clerk to Westcott Parish Council, again showed his gardening expertise in many classes at both the Waddesdon and Marsh Gibbon Horticultural Shows as follows: Waddesdon: Cup for most points in flower classes, cup for best cut flowers, shield for most points in dahlia classes, eight first prizes in show, seven second prizes in show, nine third prizes in show.

Marsh Gibbon: Cup for runner-up to most points in vegetable section, cup for runner-up to most points in show, cup for most points in flower classes, cup for best exhibit in flower classes (vase of dahlias), 16 first prizes, three second prizes and one third prize.
