This event will be one of a few fundraising activities decided upon at the last parish meeting held on October 17 and these will be held early in 2008. RO PENSIONERS GET-TOGETHER, OCTOBER 27. The principal organiser, Di Hickman, reports that about 40 people attended, including the stalwart Percy Young, aged 91, and up to this year driving himself to the function. The raffle towards the appeal for a digital eye camera and for guessing the name of the dog raised about 100.

YOUR CORRESPONDENT has been asked whether Ashendon news can be included in this column since the village has no local correspondent. I should be pleased to consider copy from other villages adjacent to Westcott, but space is limited and the final decision to print is always with The Bucks Herald.
