village skate park open

A NEW skate park has been officially opened in Aston Clinton.

The skate park has been built as a result of the hard work of two youngsters Gino Cross and Ben Morley who approached the parish council two years ago.

Council chairman Don Evett backed the boys’ skate park idea and told them to go out and raise money to help fund the cost of installing it.

Whenever Cllr Evett and his wife have been on holiday they have been looking at skate parks up and down the country to see what was available.

The parish council have given 20,000 for the first part of the project and the money raised by the youngsters will be used to buy further equipment.

The skate park was officially opened by Bob Hopkins who has been a keen and active supporter of the parish council and local amenities.

Teresa Kirtland, vice chairman of the parish council, said: “We are very pleased with the number of children already playing on the equipment.”
