Pub plays host to cancer fund night

A fundraising evening for Cancer Research took place on Saturday at The Oak in Aston Clinton.

The main event of the evening was an auction, which proved to be very popular.

There was also dancing to local bands Que and L&E, who did a great job in entertaining everyone. A great night was had by all and in total 1,700 was raised. Organisers Linda Raybould and Jo Burgess were very pleased with the amount raised for this worthy cause.

Ms Raybould said: “It has been a lot of hard work, but we had a brilliant evening and raised such a lot of money to help people suffering with cancer. A big thank you to Chris Hutton and all the staff at The Oak, who worked so hard all evening, and to Marks Marques, who provided the venue. Without them, this evening would not have happened, and we are very grateful.”

The friends would also like to thank all the companies who donated items for the auction and the raffle. Also many thanks to the people who came along and helped during the day. Plans are already in place for next year.
