Ashmead School pupils treated to flyover by classic war planes
Pupils at Ashmead School were treated to a flyover from three classic Second World War aircraft, and BHTV captured the scenes from the rooftops of The Bucks Herald.
The planes flew over the school at 1.15pm today (Thursday). First, a Dakota flew low over Aylesbury before banking back round again, then a Hurricane and Spitfire flew perilously side by side as they entertained the children below.
The school arranged for the planes to fly over as part of a class project.
The video of the planes was captured from the roof of The Bucks Herald offices off Gatehouse Road in Aylesbury.

The Douglas C-47 Skytrain or Dakota is a military transport aircraft that was developed from the Douglas DC-3 airliner. It was used extensively by the Allies during World War II and remained in front line operations through the 1950s with a few remaining in operation to this day.
The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries through the Second World War and on into the 1950s as a front line fighter and in secondary roles. It was produced in greater numbers than any other Allied fighter design and was the only Allied fighter in production throughout the war.
The Hawker Hurricane is a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was designed and predominantly built by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. Some production of the Hurricane was carried out in Canada by the Canada Car and Foundry Co Ltd.
The 1930s design evolved through several versions and adaptations, resulting in a series of aircraft which acted as interceptor-fighters, fighter-bombers (also called "Hurribombers"), and ground support aircraft.
