After recovering from the excitment of the recent AGM in Blackpool, members of Princes Risborough Young Farmers Club are now hard at work.
The group is playing host to this year’s county rally, advertised as the Bledlow Country Show, to be held on Saturday May 31 from 10am..
A fabulous day out for all the family, hosting the annual show is shared amongst the Bucks clubs and takes place in different locations each year.
Always popular with the general public, the last time Risborough hosted the show more than 5,000 people attended.
In addition to lots of main ring attractions, trade and craft stands and a farmers market of local food, the show is also the time when members of the county’s seven senior clubs and three junior clubs get the chance to go head to head in loads of competitions.
This year that will include stock judging, designing the front page of a newspaper and assembling flatpack furniture in the quickest time.
There will also be a chance to get your dog micro-chipped as the Dogs Trust will be there.
And there is to be a countryside learning area, merry go rounds and the ever popular tug of war.
Dairy farmer Ed Lacey, 26, is a member of the Risborough club and on the show committee.
He said: “It’s a busy time of year. I’m having to cut out a little bit of sleep to get everything done.
“It’s a case of going to work, and then straight into bits and pieces for the rally and then to bed.”
The show is at Manor Hosue Farm, Perry Lane, Bledlow.
