EXTREME WEATHER WARNING: Heavy snow on its way

THE Met Office has in the last hour issued a weather warning amid forecasts of more heavy snow tonight (Thursday).

The website for the Met Office posted the warning just after 2pm today. It states there is a moderate risk of severe weather today.

It reads: "Snow will spread southwards from Scotland into parts of northern, central and eastern England today, probably reaching the southeast, including London and the Home Counties this evening.

"Some 2-5cm of snow is possible across many parts with perhaps as much as 8cm on higher ground of the north."

As of 5pm, it was reportedly snowing in Winslow.
