Chiltern Conservation Board has teamed up with Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway offering a chance to watch wildlife whilst enjoying a train ride.

Starting on April 11, passengers of all ages can board the vintage diesel train for a 45 minute journey along the Chilterns with chances of seeing red kites, buzzards, rabbits, foxes, deer and more.

Cathy Rose from the Chiltern Conservation Board said: “There’s lots to see on the
journey. The better the weather, the more animals you’ll see.”

“I’ve tried it out for myself and saw many red kites, buzzards, deers, hares, rabbits, foxes and butterflies.”

Expert volunteers from the Chiltern Conservation Board and Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway will be travelling with passengers to help identify the wildlife and provide information about the history of the
area.

Cathy added: “The train takes passengers on a slow paced journey which gives people a great chance to see plants, animals and birds along the way. The animals are not frightened by the train - they’ve become used to it!”

The seven mile round trips take place at four intervals throughout the day at 10.30am, noon, 1.30pm and 3pm at Chinnor Station, Station Road, Chinnor.

Tickets cost £11 for adults and £10 for senior citizens. Up to 2 children can travel with each paying adult for just £1 each.

The events form part of the Chiltern Conservation Board’s ‘Wildlife on the Move’ programme, further trips will be avaliable throughout the spring and summer, including wildlife watching trips on a Thames pleasure cruiser with Hobbs of Henley.
