An Aylesbury school has been named as a runner-up in a video competition to promote winter safety.

Elmhurst School’s song to the tune of Jingle Bells encourages people to wrap up warm and turn their headlights on.

The Year Six class at Ickford Combined School won with a winter rap song, with Dropmore Infant School, on the Bucks/Berkshire border, was named the other runner-up.

Mark Shaw, cabinet member for transportation at Bucks County Council said: “It is clear that huge effort went into all these entries and I am delighted that schools were eager to get involved and help us out with our winter plans.

“Spreading the message of being safe on the roads in winter is so important, and I hope that all the children that took part will remember to share this with their friends and parents.”
