The headteacher of Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School has said he is very pleased at the high number of students who have gained places at their first choice university.

The A-level results come hot on the heels of the school’s excellent International Baccalaureate Diploma results with top students Aimee Hills and Matthew Elley both achieving three A* grades.

Headteacher Stephen Box said: “Our students have worked very hard and thoroughly deserve their successes.

“This is the first year that January modules have not been available so students everywhere had to take a lot of exams this summer.

“I am impressed at how well they coped with the extra pressure.”
