An 18-year-old from Aylesbury has been arrested after a series of warrants were carried out under the Sexual Offences Act this morning (Thursday).

The teenager was taken into custody on suspicion of ‘causing or inciting indecent images of children, and causing or inciting sexual activity with a child under 16’ by officers as part of Operation Royce.

Twenty officers took part arresting five people across the Thames Valley including a 19, 20 and 17-year-old all from Wycombe and an 18-year-old from Slough.

Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Glister said: “I am able to confirm that the allegations revolve around a single victim, and we are doing all that we can to keep them safe and support them through this investigation process.

“The arrest phase has, for now, concluded, allowing us to fully review the evidence and continue the investigation to a satisfactory conclusion.

“Thames Valley Police is committed to protecting vulnerable victims of crime, which has been at the heart of this enquiry.

“If you are concerned for vulnerable people within your community then you should not hesitate to contact us on either the police non-emergency number 101, or 999 in an emergency, or alternatively Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

Men aged between 17 and 23 from London, Maidenhead and Hampshire along with five others from Wycombe were also arrested on Tuesday as part of the same operation.
