Police believe a fire started in a bin cupboard outside a house was intentional and had ‘potential to cause extensive damage’.
At about 1.30am on Tuesday June 30, a 34-year-old man was woken by the smoke alarm at an address in Fletcher Close, Aylesbury.
He discovered a small fire in the bin cupboard immediately outside the front door, which he put out with a fire extinguisher.
PC Sarah Lewis from Aylesbury police station said: “Although this was a small fire the proximity to the front door and upstairs bedroom means that this had the potential to cause extensive damage to the property and people within the building.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Lewis at Aylesbury CID on 101.
