Police hunting escaped prisoner

Police are hunting a man who absconded from Spring Hill prison.

Michael Rothery, 43, absconded from the open prison in Grendon Underwood in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

He is white, 5ft 9ins, of stocky build and with a bald head.

It is not known what he was wearing at the time but he may have had a green jacket on.

Chief Insp Olly Wright, local police area commander for Aylesbury Vale said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen this man in the area and can provide us with information about his movements.

“There have been various lines of enquiry this morning which will continue throughout the day.

“I would advise anyone who sees him not to approach him and to call police immediately.”
