Manhunt launched after 15-year-old girl sexually assaulted in Vale Park

Police are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in Vale Park on Saturday night.

Sometime between 8.20pm and 11pm, the victim was walking in Aylesbury town centre with a friend when they began chatting to a man, who walked with them into the park before he attacked her.

The offender is an Asian man, around 5ft 5ins, medium build, aged in his twenties and wearing a dark top and light trousers.

Det Insp Mark Baxter, who is leading the investigation said: “We are carrying out a full and thorough investigation into this sexual assault.

“This kind of incident is rare and I would like to reassure the community that we are focused on locating this offender.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in or around the Vale Park area at that time, who may have witnessed anything they believe would assist our investigation to come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.”

The Bucks Herald received reports on Sunday morning that Vale Park was cordoned off and contacted police, however it took until today for them to release the information.
