A gunman who shot a 43-year-old man in Aylesbury has spent his third day on the run.

The shooting happened in Hilton Avenue, in the Elmhurt area of Aylesbury, at around 7.15pm on Sunday.

Police cordoned off Dryden Close for forensic experts to carry out inspections on Monday.

Today, the victim remains at Stoke Mandeville Hospital with ‘non life threatening injuries’, however a police spokesman said he is ‘likely to be there for some time’.

Police said it is unknown whether the gunman is still armed.

They refuse to give details on where they are searching for the gunman or whether he is believed to still be in the area or in another part of the country.

They will not give details of where the victim, who is not from the area, was shot or whether a gun has been found.

A spokesman reiterated that the gunman knew the victim but the motives of the attack are unknown.
