At about 3pm on Thursday, August 20 a 75-year-old woman was approached by a man who told her he needed to fix a water leak at a house in Braggenham Side.

Two men went into the property on the pretence of solving the problem.

After they left the woman noticed cash had been taken from her purse.

The men made off in a small white car, which looked new and possibly had three doors. It may have been driven by a third man.

The first man is white, about 40-years-old, of medium build, 5ft 10ins to 6ft and clean shaven. He was wearing a woolly hat and possibly khaki-coloured jacket and trousers.

The second man is white, in his 40s, 5ft 10ins to 6ft, of medium build and did not have facial hair.

He was wearing a baseball cap which was possibly black, a dark jacket and dark trousers.

The second man’s jaw looked as though he had been injured and he spoke as though it affected his speech.

The E-fit is a representation of the second man.

Investigating officer, Det Con Stephanie Macleod, said: “The men told the victim they needed assistance to repair a water leak. The first man distracted her while the second stole cash from the property.

“If anyone recognises the man in the E-fit or has any information that would assist the investigation I would ask them to call 101, the non-emergency police number.”

Anyone with information can contact Det Con Stephanie Macleod via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101.
